The Knott’s Summer Nights block party returns with a backyard barbecue atmosphere filled with festival food, live music, stage shows and games for the kids — plus all the roller coasters you can handle.

Knott’s Summer Nights kick off May 20 and run through Sept. 5 at the Buena Park theme park.

The Summer Nights entertainment lineup of rotating Top 40 bands on the Calico Mine Stage includes Tomasina, Hiatus, Suffragettes, Mic Dangerously and the Royal We.

The lineup of Latin, reggae and zydeco bands on the Calico Park Stage throughout the summer features Urban Music Society, Flashback Heart Attack and 80z All Stars, BloBrass Band, Zydeco Party, Island Reggae, Nitro Express & Jasmine Fields, Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five, Filharmonic, Adelaide Pilar and Doo Wah Riders.

Boardwalk DJs will spin tunes around the Charleston Circle Fountain.

Summer Nights entertainment starts each evening at 6 and runs until the park closes.

The Summer Nights food fest features two dozen seasonal dishes and drinks including crabcake sliders, Korean barbecue burgers, vegan lettuce wraps and peach and pineapple shaved ice. Summer Nights tasting cards offer six samples for $50 (or $45 for season passholders).

Knott’s also plans to bring back its daily lineup of summertime entertainment that includes Mariachi Angelitas and the “Alegre” puppet show by the Bob Baker Marionettes in Fiesta Village, “Miss Cameo Kate’s Western Burle-Q Revue” in the Bird Cage Theatre, Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies in the Wagon Camp and the KNOT radio DJs on the Boardwalk.

Also returning for a summer run is Ghost Town Alive with a new interactive storyline that encourages visitors to solve puzzles, embark on secret missions and influence the outcome of the day’s events in the Old West town of Calico.

Across Beach Boulevard, Knott’s Soak City water park returns May 21 for a summer season that runs through Sept. 18.
