San Manuel donating $200,000 to Olive Crest to fight child abuse

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has donated $200,000 to Olive Crest to support the organizati­on’s Child Abuse Stops Here initiative in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The tribe has partnered for 21 years with Olive Crest, which works to prevent and treat child abuse, according to news release

“For many years, Olive Crest has focused on healing and improving the lives of children in our community, who have suffered from abuse,” San Manuel Chairman Ken Ramirez said in the release.

will increase volunteers and allow for placing an additional 260 children in short-term, long-term and permanent homes, the release states.

“This grant supports the Olive Crest initiative to go forward to build healthier and more resilient communitie­s

by developing and expanding community partnershi­ps,” Tracy Fitzsimmon­s, executive director of Olive Crest’s Inland and Desert Communitie­s Region, said in the release.
