Kershaw put on IL with inflammation in right pelvic joint

LOS ANGELES >> Clayton Kershaw’s latest trip to the injured list is a lot like others in his past.

Flying home from Pittsburgh on Wednesday, his back tightened up. An MRI revealed no structural changes since spring training, but Kershaw received an epidural injection along with a diagnosis of inflammation in his right SI (sacroiliac) joint, which connects the pelvis to the spine.

The Dodgers placed Kershaw on the 15-day injured list on Friday. He’ll miss at least half of the team’s most grueling stretch of the young season — 31 games in 30 days.
