Absolutely no to a symbolic trip when the bombs are falling daily

-

For what purpose? Symbolic support? We are giving Ukraine all the actual military support we are willing to give.

During WWII, Presidents Roosevelt and Truman met with Churchill and Stalin on multiple occasions.

But they met miles from the war zone.

If President Biden were to go to Ukraine, he’s going to the middle of where bombs and missiles are falling daily. I have no doubt Putin would not be able to resist the temptation. And what follows after that? WWIII.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I have no desire to spend the last days of my life in a nuclear winter for a symbolic gesture.

I have a better idea. Meet Zelenskyy in Poland, away from the war zone. Even Putin would not risk upsetting all of NATO. Because an attack on one is an attack on all.

He would not want the fury of all of NATO to fall on what is left of his troops and equipment in Ukraine.
