60 Freeway closures in Badlands canceled as workers finish painting lane stripes
This week’s closures on the 60 Freeway in the Badlands area are being cut short.
Construction workers finished painting stripes Monday night in a section where truck lanes are being built between Moreno Valley and Beaumont, said Cheryl Donahue, a spokesperson for the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
As a result, Donahue said, the closures that were planned for Tuesday night and tonight were canceled. There is no need, she said, to close both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane on those nights for the striping operation.
The agency is nearing completion on almost 5 miles of new truck lanes through a hilly section of the 60 east of Moreno Valley.
