Broncos head to regionals

Cal Poly Pomona’s baseball team is back at the big dance.

Winners of the recent California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament, the Broncos received the No. 5 seed for the upcoming NCAA Division II West Regional and travel to San Diego for a double-elimination tournament beginning Thursday on the campus of top-seeded Point Loma Nazarene.

Cal Poly Pomona (35-17 overall) has won 27 of its last 33 games, and now has reached the NCAA Tournament by winning the CCAA tournament each of the last two seasons.

This is the Broncos’ seventh NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 10 years under head coach Randy Betten.
