San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus, 54, has been appointed to the board of State and Community Correction­s. He has served as sheriff at the department since 2021, and will take on challenger Clifton Lee Harris in the June primary to keep his seat. Dicus has held several positions in the Sheriff’s Department since 1991, including undersheri­ff, assistant sheriff, chief, commander and others. This position requires Senate confirmati­on. There is no compensati­on. Dicus is a Republican.
