Durant, Irving help Nets extend streak

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving each scored 32 points and the visiting Nets extended their longest winning streak since moving to Brooklyn to nine games with a 125-117 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.

The Nets (22-12), who have won 13 of 14, withstood a 46-point, eight-assist performanc­e by Darius Garland, who single-handedly kept the Cavaliers (2213) close in the fourth.

Irving made a seasonhigh seven 3-pointers — and two key free throws with 41.1 seconds left — while being booed nearly every time he touched the ball by fans who cheered him during six seasons with Cleveland.

The Cavs’ Donovan Mitchell had just 15 points — 13 below his average — on 5 of 16 shooting. PELICANS 113, PACERS 93 >> Naji Marshall scored a career-high 22 points, Jonas Valanciuna­s had 20 points and 12 rebounds, and short-handed New Orleans extended its winning streak to three games, beating visiting Indiana.

CJ McCollum added 19 points for the Pelicans, who were missing top scorer Zion Williamson along with Brandon Ingram, Herb Jones and Trey Murphy III.

New Orleans had its best first-half defensive effort of the season, holding Indiana to 38 points on 14 baskets. The Pelicans led 57-38 at the break after trailing 18-9 midway through the first quarter. ROCKETS 133, BULLS 118 >> Kevin Porter Jr. scored 36 points and visiting Houston used a 17-1 run in the third to beat Chicago and snap a five-game losing streak.

Alperan Sengun added 25 points and Jalen Green had 24 for the Rockets.
