Rams, at 6-7 and four games left, can still make playoffs UP NEXT

THOUSAND OAKS >> Coming into the season, you’d be forgiven if you expect to be paying attention to draft pole position instead of the playoff standings when it comes to the Rams. With the lowest payroll in the NFL, the Rams weren’t supposed to be in the hunt in mid-December.

But at 6-7 with four games to play, the Rams are in a five-way tie for the NFC’s final playoff spot

With the standings so condensed, let’s take a look at what needs to happen for the Rams to make the playoffs for the first time since winning Super Bowl LVI. THE TASK AT HAND >> First things first, the Rams have to beat the Washington Commanders (4-9) on today

Tyler Glasnow is a key addition by the Dodgers, who are short reliable starters with Walker Buehler coming off elbow surgery and Clayton Kershaw a free agent.

LOS ANGELES >> The Dodgers got the two-way star they wanted. Now they’ve added some of the front-line pitching they need.

The Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays officially announced a trade Saturday that will bring righthande­r Tyler Glasnow and outfielder Manuel Margot to Los Angeles (along with $4 million in cash considerat­ions) in exchange for right-hander Ryan Pepiot and outfielder Jonny DeLuca.

The deal was contingent on the Dodgers reaching an agreement on a contract extension with Glasnow, who could have been a free agent following the 2024 season. That deal is for five years and $136.5 million, including the $25 million he was scheduled to make in 2024.
