Megan Bowers is a Level II Visual Arts endorsed teacher. She attended Hampshire College for Creative Writing and then went on to graduate from Parsons School of Design in N.Y.C. Megan then worked as a freelance magazine photographer and staff photographer at Sotheby's in N.Y. C. for 10 years. After making Taos her home, Megan worked as the chief photographer for The Taos News as well as the Santa Fe New Mexican.
Megan was a contract Associated Press photojournalist and a freelance journalist for 15 years. Throughout her journalism career Megan won numerous national and state awards and taught photography at the University of New Mexico for Taos High School as well as the Discovery Program. After receiving a Los Alamos scholarship, Megan obtained her teaching degree and began her career at TISA (Taos Integrated School of the Arts).
In 2015 Megan won a Teacher of the Year award for Taos County. Megan is recognized as a PASEO Star Teacher and is the creator and facilitator of TISA Talks, a monthly journalism page in The Taos News. Currently, Megan is the art's curriculum coordinator and fourthgrade teacher.
