The Taos News - Back to School
Ranchos Elementary School
WELCOME TO THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR!!!
It is my pleasure to welcome students and families to Ranchos Elementary School. I feel extremely fortunate to be working with such an exceptional group of students, families, and staff. This is an exciting time for us as we prepare for our students and the adventures ahead.
We have a remarkable staff – cooks, teachers, custodians, secretary, nurse, educational assistants, bus drivers, counselors and social workers who spend countless hours training, caring, preparing and planning for our students. Daily lessons are engaging and our teachers utilize research-based best practices and analyze data to determine individual skill levels to set students’ goals.
The Ranchos Elementary educational team is dedicated to creating successful learners by having high expectations for all our students and expecting academic excellence. In addition to academics, our focus is to also create a safe and positive learning environment. The educational team and students will promote and model responsible and respectful behavior and create a positive and safe learning atmosphere where teachers are able to teach and students are able to learn. Important members of our teams are the families, and together we will help our students achieve.
The first day of school is Thursday, August 15th. The school day begins at 8:30 and ends at 3:30. All students will receive free breakfast and lunch beginning on the first day of school. We will have early dismissal (1:30) every Friday beginning August 23rd. Parents will be provided with a detailed district calendar.
We are delighted to welcome our new students and their families to the Ranchos Elementary Family. New student registration is open from 8:30 – 3:30. Please bring your student’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of physical address.
In closing, we look forward to building positive relationships and partnering with our school community in efforts to educate our students. Please contact us at 737-6150 if you would like further information.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lourdes Cordova, Principal
