The Taos News - Back to School

Committed to Our Native American Students

-

Taos Municipal Schools is committed to the success and well-being of your student. The school district works with Tribal leaders, Tribal partners, and parents of Indian students through school, district, and parent meetings including the Indian Education Committee (IEC). The IEC meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month during the school year. Their role is to advise the Board of Education on ways to support Native American students in Taos Municipal Schools and to help determine what services (in school, at home, and in the community) should be provided to support the success of Indian students. Our goal is to help students graduate with a diploma of excellence and be ready for college and career while closing achievement gaps. Parents and committee members are welcome at all meetings. Please join us and bring your ideas!
