The Taos News

Always part of her heart

-

On a recent visit to Taos after a several-year absence, I was struck (or re-struck, I should say) by the beauty of the place I called home for nearly a decade.

Everything glittered in the early June sunshine. The Taosblue sky dazzled. The whole town looked clean, well cared for, and well loved. People, locals and tourists alike, smiled and said hello when passing on the sidewalk. My many Taos friends embraced me like loving family.

Taos is a unique place in the United States in my experience. It’s the only place in the States where I could ever live. I no longer live there. I’ve retired to more-affordable Mexico, but part of my heart will always remain in Taos, and I will revisit as often as I can.
