Tesla in Taos?

The Taos News - - FAVOR Y CONTRA - Arroyo Seco Ranchos de Taos

Right now to try a Tesla, you have to drive to a suburb of Denver. We are one of the few states that do not allow Tesla to have a showroom. I can see why. Once you try a Tesla, you will not want to buy any other car. This will hurt the outmoded sales and service model that the dealerships rely on to stay in business. I sent an email to our future governor, asking her to consider allowing Tesla to operate in our state.

Right now Kit Carson Electric Co-op uses solar energy for 30 percent daytime production of electricity. This is to be

100 percent by year 2022. This can only mean better air quality, safer cars on the road and less traffic to Santa Fe or Albuquerque for service. These cars have

20 moving parts rather than the 2,000 that combustion engine cars have. I never took a test drive, I went online, picked the features I wanted, and had the car (I named it Sparky) delivered.

I will get a $7,500 rebate on my taxes. This will be cut in half next year. While some people put their name on a list a year ago or more, it took us only about a month. This afternoon I climate-controlled the car remotely using the Tesla app. The acceleration, features and performance are astounding and make all other vehicles feel like horse and buggy.

Trump’s failure to condemn the right-wing white supremacists in Virginia and a similar group in Arizona is, in my opinion, a trickle down effect on all Chicanos/Mexicans/ Hlspanlcs/ genizaros. Some Hispanos are very much concerned with what is taking place in Washington, D.C. I believe it is un-American when Trump mocks persons who differ with him and uses Mexicans or Muslims to spew his racist feelings much like Hitler did.

Believe It can’t happen here? Despierten hermanos! Wake up before It’s too late! Japanese Americans were put in concentration camps (internment camps) for security. America praised the destruction of the Berlin wall and Trumplicans are building a wall. Both those immigrants caught in the U.S. who are responsible, hardworking taxpayers or those crossing the U.S./Mexican border seeking refuge from violence get deported. Their children? These kids separated from their parents are placed in concentration camps or placed in foster homes. Can this happen to our children? Why not?

La comunidad Chlcana/ Mexicana/Hispana must get out to vote. I believe that candidates who run under the Republican Party are Trump supporters and are using deceptive tactics to acqlre Democratic votes. For example Pearce introduces Land Grant legislation at a time he will not be in Congress to see it through. Other Republicans fail to mention party affiliation .Candidates in my opinion choose party affiliations based on the basic philosophy of said party.

Bueno, New Mexicans, get out and VOTE. FRANCISCO “EL COMANCHE”
