What could Taos do with a half million dollars?
Town among 20 in running for spot in Season 4 of Small Business Revolution – Main Street
Taos was among thousands of towns nominated to be in season four of “Small Business Revolution – Main Street,” a program created by marketing company Deluxe Corp. and streamed on Hulu.
Taos has made it to the top 20 from among 12,000 towns nominated, according to a statement from Deluxe Corp.
The prize for the ultimate winning town: $500,000 and consulting with specialists who aim to revitalize small-town America. The winning community also will be featured in an eight-part web series airing in the fall of 2019.
Over the next month, Deluxe executives will gather more information from the top 20 communities before narrowing its list to 10 finalists on Dec. 10. The company will visit the ten finalists in January. Those ten will be cut to five communities that will part of a national vote to determine the winner.
The winner will be announced in late February.
On Oct. 4, Deluxe launched season three of “Small Business Revolution – Main Street,” featuring Alton, Illinois and six businesses selected to receive the $500,000 makeover. The series, which airs on smallbusinessrevolution.org, Hulu and YouTube, features marketing and business expertise for small businesses in one small town. Host Amanda Brinkman, Deluxe’s chief brand and communications officer, along with marketing experts from Deluxe and renovation icon Ty Pennington, help struggling business owners find their path to success.
“Last year, we added the top 20 round to gather even more information about communities nominated,” Brinkman said. “It is inspiring to watch how people in these towns love their communities and advocate for a chance to be in our final five. Watching communities come together to support their small businesses is what makes the “Small Business Revolution” so incredible.”
Deluxe, a small business marketing and financial services firm, launched the show in 2016, sharing the inspirational stories of Wabash, Indiana in season one and Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania in season two. All eight episodes of season three, featuring Alton, along with the previous seasons, are available online at or on Hulu.
