The following is a condensed version of Taos Police reports from Jan. 2-6.
Jan. 2
8:14 a.m. Agency assistance, State Road 68 – Police were requesting assistance with a man who had wrecked a vehicle and was fleeing capture.
8:16 a.m. Welfare check, O’Reilly Auto Parts – A man walking down the street carrying a bottle had almost been hit by traffic a few times.
10:09 a.m. Larceny, Taos County Economic Development Center –A caller reported that 1,000 pounds of meat had been stolen from a freezer, possibly over a period of months.
10:11 a.m. Animal stray, Amor Lane – A caller said a stray cat in the area needed to be picked up.
11:33 a.m. Suicide subject, El Centro Health Clinic – A suicidal woman needed help.
12:19 p.m. Animal stray, Este Es Road – A caller said a big gray dog with a long black tail was wandering the area killing other animals.
1:12 p.m. Animal stray, Smith’s – The store manager caught a dog that had run into the store.
5:20 p.m. Welfare check, Fernandez Lane – A man with a history of PTSD was arguing with his wife and threatening suicide.
6:59 p.m. Welfare check, Taos Police Department – A caller said he picked up a man near Holy Cross Hospital and tried to take him to Taos Men’s Shelter, but management there refused to take him.
10 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Nusenda Credit Union – A caller said the ATM at the bank failed to give him $240 he had requested.
Jan. 3
7:57 a.m. Animal stay, Siler Road – A puppy showed up on the caller’s door and they are unable to have a dog.
8:01 a.m. Traffic hazard, Ranchitos Road – A red Ford truck was traveling in the wrong lane.
3:52 p.m. Animal stray, Kit Carson Park – Caller said there were dogs off leash in the park.
6:59 p.m. Fraud, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – Someone had stolen the caller’s purse.
7:27 p.m. Unknown problem, Camino de la Serna – Caller said a small car was doing doughnuts and wanted a patrol through the night.
Jan. 4
2:56 a.m. Disturbing the peace,
Camino del Medio – Caller said loud music was coming from the trailers.
10:43 a.m. Trespassing, Verizon
– Caller said some people living under the bridge had been going through the dumpster.
3:15 p.m. Battery, DreamTree Project – A youth attacked another youth.
4:36 p.m. Information, State Road 382 – Caller wanted to turn himself in for stealing from a storage.
8:28 p.m. Criminal damage, Los Trujillos Lane – Caller said someone drove onto their property and cut a hole in their fence. The car then drove onto the neighbor’s property and idled their vehicle there.
Jan. 5
5:34 a.m. Suspicious circumstances, Camino de la Placita – Caller said they passed a man trying to flag down cars in the middle of the road.
5:43 a.m. Welfare check, Cid’s Food Market – A man was standing in the middle of the road trying to stop the caller on the road.
2:53 p.m. Shoplifting, Big 5 – Caller said a woman went in to exchange an item.
3:06 p.m. Information report, Enos Garcia Elementary – Caller said there were some parents trying to fight with each other.
8:03 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Sonic – A customer seemed under the influence of something and had a needle.
10:13 p.m. Suspicious circumstances, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A car was parked outside of the caller’s house and they did not know the vehicle.
Jan. 6
9:12 a.m. Breaking and entering, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – Caller said someone was trying to get into their home.
12:01 p.m. Property found, Chevron – Caller said there was an exposed needle near one of the pumps.
6:10 p.m. Unknown problem, Holy Cross Hospital – A female patient left the hospital with an IV in her arm.
