Nine tribal elders from Taos Pueblo win 19 medals at All Indian Game Days
Tribal elders from Taos Pueblo attended the 2019 Indian Game Days held on April 24-25 at Santa Fe Indian School. Participants competed in ten sports and fitness fun activities.
The event is held every other year and was sponsored through the New Mexico Senior Olympics.
The Taos Pueblo team was sponsored by the Taos Pueblo Fitness Program and took nine elders to compete: Darlene Montoya, Sam and Rosemarie Chisolm, Bennie and Edna Romero, Margaret Trujillo, Geri Mirabal, Fernando Trujillo and Paula Tsoodle.

Darlene Montoya – competed in the 55-59 age division and won three medals
1) Power Walk 1500 meter - first place (13:42)

3) Frisbee Accuracy - second place
Rose Chisolm - competed in the 80-84 age division and won one medal
1) Softball Distance Throw - second place (34.6)
Geri Mirabal – competed in the 75-79 age group and won one medal
1) 100 meter run - first place
Edna Romero – competed in the 80-84 age group and won four medals

Bennie Romero – competed in the 80-84 age group and won three medals

Fernando Trujillo – competed in the 65-69 age group and won three medals
1) Powerwalk 1500 meters - second place
2) 400 meter run first place

Margaret Trujillo – competed in the 90-plus age group and won one medal

Paula Tsoodle – competed in the 55-60 age group and won three medals
