The following is a condensed version of Taos Police reports from June 19-24.
June 19
12 a.m. Traffic hazard, Taos Post Office, 318 Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said a large tree was covering the roadway.
2:42 a.m. Civil complaint, Carson Trailer Park – A caller said another man was drunk and locked him out of his house.
11:15 a.m. Trespassing,
Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A caller said a young homeless man was on her property and refusing to leave.
8:10 p.m. Suicide subject, DreamTree Project – A caller said a young male at the shelter was expressing suicidal ideations. The caller said he had attempted to jump off a cliff when they visited the Río Grande Gorge, but another youth held him down.
11:27 p.m. Reckless driver, Smith’s – A caller said two cars sped into the parking lot and were doing doughnuts.
June 20
10:17 a.m. Reckless driver, Salazar Road – A caller said a truck pulled up behind her and ran her off the road.
1:56 p.m. Battery, El
Taoseño – A caller said a man was beating up an older man with a belt near the restaurant. A man inside the restaurant said he took a video of the incident.
2:34 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Fred Baca Park – A caller said they were leading a children’s camp and there was someone flying a drone overhead. They felt it was suspicious and wanted an officer to check it out.
2:57 p.m. Harassment, Community Against Violence
– A caller said a couple of men approached her and said suggestive things to her when she got out of her car near the store. She said she then swung at them, they cursed at her and she got back in her car and drove away.
8:19 p.m. Suicide attempt,
DreamTree Project – A caller said a girl was threatening to kill herself. The caller said the girl had cut herself and taken some pills.
June 21
12:34 a.m. Welfare check, Valverde Street – A woman walked into the caller’s house.
9:14 a.m. Harassment, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – Caller said a man was threatening them about a rental vehicle.
11:45 a.m. Harassment,
Bealls – An elderly man in a walker was threatening to burn the store down.
2:05 p.m. Reckless driver, Smith’s – Caller said a driver nearly hit their vehicle and was flipping them off.
3:37 p.m. Shoplifting, Super
Save – A woman was caught stealing bottles and began fighting with employees.
4:28 p.m. Reckless driver,
Taos Plaza – A blue car with California plates was driving through the plaza with their doors open.
June 22
9:39 a.m. Larceny, Taos Spa – An employee’s phone was stolen the day before.
9:43 a.m. Welfare check,
Adobe Road – A man with no shirt was walking back and forth screaming.
4:11 p.m. Loitering, The
Gorge Bar and Grill – A man near the back alley had a backpack with a metal bar sticking out of it and a knife in his hand.
5:23 p.m. Welfare check, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – Caller said their neighbor was running in and out of his house and acting weird.
5:59 p.m. Suspicious circumstances, Holy Cross Hospital – A patient in the waiting room was acting strange with a knife in hand.
7:17 p.m. Battery, Taos Police Department – A person said their ex-wife was sending people to kill them.
June 23
12:56 a.m. Criminal damage, Wendy’s – Caller said people were trying to break in.
1:24 a.m. Theft of a motor vehicle, Mariposa Apartments – Caller said their little brother stole their brown Chevy Avalanche.
11:27 a.m. Animal Abuse,
Allsup’s north – Caller said there was a German shepherd in the back of a truck unrestrained.
6:22 p.m. Suspicious circumstances, Kit Carson Park – Two boys were lighting fireworks and acting like “hooligans.”
June 24
12:28 a.m. Suspicious circumstance, Calle Cornelio – Someone was pounding on the caller’s door.
10:03 a.m. Suspicious circumstances, Los Pandos Road – A blue Honda was parked outside the caller’s residence. Driver may have been doing drugs.
1:09 p.m. Welfare check, Taos Youth and Family Center – A woman seemed intoxicated and was yelling at her kids. The woman was slurring her words and not walking straight.
2:29 p.m. Assault, Espinoza Road – A driver stopped their white Toyota Corolla and pulled a female out of it by her hair.
7:28 p.m. Welfare check, Walgreens – A man was lying on the ground, possibly intoxicated.
10:04 p.m. Welfare check, Zia Circle – Caller wanted a check on their son who was running after their car.
