Monte Verde Realty merges with Coldwell Banker Mountain Properties

-

Angel Fire real estate has undergone a big change now that Stan Harrell, owner/ broker of Monte Verde Realty, merged his office with Coldwell Banker Mountain Properties, also of Angel Fire.

Coldwell Banker Mountain Properties offices are located in Angel Fire and Taos, and in Colorado at Vail, Breckenridge, Frisco, Silverthorne, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Dillon, Winter Park, Grand Lake, Crested Butte and Gunnison, according to a press release. Harrell said in a statement he is “looking forward to providing his clients Coldwell Banker’s state-of-the-art marketing technology.”

The first private real estate brokerage in Angel Fire, Monte Verde Realty was founded by Angel Fire Corporation real estate salespersons Bob Bright and Bets Loving. Harrell described those early Moreno Valley real estate days as requiring a pioneering, do-it-yourself spirit. “You did every step of the work, showing property, closing, writing deeds and contracts and even finding a lender,” he said in a statement.

Harrell moved to the Moreno Valley in 1972. “It was hard to make a living,” he said. In those days, he worked as a lift operator and Angel Fire ski patrolman, going back to Texas to work summers.

In 1980, Bob Bright retired and Harrell joined the firm. A year later, the office moved to then-brand-new Centro Plaza, where it remains today. Loving stayed on, retiring in 1987 and moving to New Zealand, and Harrell became sole proprietor. Over the years, Monte Verde Realty has established itself as the premier recreational ranch and acreage brokerage for the Moreno Valley. Other Monte Verde Realty Realtors joining the merger are Don Borgeson, Clark Henley and Brinn Colenda.
