Blankenhorn will apply the law fairly

-

This letter is in support of Sara Blankenhorn for magistrate judge.

Sara, who was appointed to the position by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham earlier this year, grew up in Taos, is a graduate of Taos High School and is the only attorney running for the position.

Sara has broad legal experience that makes her an excellent choice for the people’s court. Since graduating with honors from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2011, Sara has worked both on both the prosecution and defense side of criminal matters, and for the past several years has worked in court to obtain domestic violence protection orders in domestic relations court.

I know her best from her work with our law firm on acequia and community water association issues here in Northern New Mexico, and can vouch for her intelligence, understanding and integrity in tackling issues that are important to people here in Taos County.

Judge Blankenhorn is a hard worker who will apply the law fairly.

El Prado A fresh start for Taos County clerk

When I first met Dolores Lujan several years ago, it was truly a pleasure.

I know people often say that when meeting one another – in this circumstance, it is the only phrase that would be fitting. Dolores along with several others and myself were volunteering at a local community event; her sunny disposition and enthusiasm were as evident when donating her time charitably as they are when serving in her official capacity at the county offices. She performs her duties efficiently and always has a smile on her face.

Having been in business for over 30 years, I have spent a lot of time selecting and evaluating talent at many levels. I attribute my success to having surrounded myself with good honest people.

Dolores is such a person. She is a natural leader; she is diligent, honest and committed. Her stellar work ethic, vast experience and commitment to continuing education in her field make me confident that she is the right person for the position of Taos County clerk.

It is my hope we can all benefit from her guidance and professionalism to meet the challenges we will face in these new normal times. Norbert L. Mondragon

I support Dolores Lujan as the clear choice for Taos County clerk.

Dolores’ 16 years of experience speaks for itself, and will allow her to bring a whole new level of professionalism that the constituents of Taos deserve. I have enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere that Dolores has always provided. There is not a single time when being helped by Dolores did I receive anything less than the most friendly and efficient service.

I believe Dolores will provide the service that we deserve.

Voter picks Lujan

Taos County will always hold a special place in our hearts – living in Taos for a decade during the 1990s and serving on the Taos County Lodgers Tax Advisory Board.

Our twin boys were born there when we lived in the Weimer foothills neighborhood close to Holy Cross Hospital. We owned and operated the Holiday Inn Don Fernando de Taos during those years, and affectionately remember friends and family who still live in the community today.

We have moved and manage hotels in Arizona and South Dakota now, but what I do know is small towns are built upon quality relationships with quality people.

Delores Lujan is one such person. In a position that requires trust, Dolores is the right choice. She has sound judgment and honesty is simply part of her DNA. We have been friends with Dolores over these many years and know she will be an excellent choice for Taos County clerk.

For the past 14-plus years, Valerie Rael Montoya has served in many capacities at the county clerk’s office.

She has extensive experience working as a deputy clerk, transcriber, grants coordinator and lodgers tax secretary. Currently, as the chief deputy clerk, she attends Taos County Commission meetings regularly and has worked at least 20 elections, working closely with the public and Bureau of Elections.

She is also in charge of maintaining the public records for Taos

County. This experience and extensive hands-on work assures she is the best qualified and best candidate for this position. Also, very important is the fact that she has a great working relationship with her colleagues, a positive and inspiring attitude and great work ethic.

As a lifelong member of our community, she will give back to the community where she grew up in, as a good public servant and leader.

We appreciate your support and vote for Valerie Rael Montoya as our next Taos County clerk.
