Taos County provides masks to all employees
Taos County will be providing face coverings for all employees following Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s recent order declaring them mandatory for all New Mexico residents.
County employees will have to wear face coverings while at work and in public places.
“We are purchasing homemade masks for the employee base from a local vendor because we do not want to deplete our stock for emergency personnel,” said county manager Brent Jaramillo. “If a member of the public is coming to the county [complex] and does not have a mask, we will provide one.”
Monday (May 18) was the first day all county employees had to begin wearing masks.
The Taos County Administrative Complex on Albright Street is currently operating on limited hours to help prevent the possible spread of COVID-19 and is largely closed to the public. Doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointments only.
Payments for county bills must be mailed in or submitted online.
Early voting is still ongoing at the county offices and poll workers will be wearing masks as well as sanitizing the area. Early voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until May 30 and masks are required to enter the building.
