The primary purpose for affirmations is to change your thinking. Everything you have asked for has already shown up in your life. That’s because positive or negative thoughts that you dwell on are affirmations. What you think about all day long is what you have now. So, change your thinking and you’ll change your life. A daily practice of saying (and writing, if you have time) affirmations, is a powerful way to change your thinking.

Instead of repeating affirmations for some specific thing you want to show up in the future (like cash or a car, job or relationship), I suggest using non-specific affirmations. Below are some reasons to use affirmations and examples of affirmations for each, but it’s important that you choose words that have power and meaning for you.

To reduce stress:

• “Something good will come of this.”

• “I am willing to change and to grow.”

To build confidence:

• “Every day in every way I am getting better and better.”

• “I am powerful and magnificent.”

To have greater health and well-being:

• “I am strong and healthy in body, mind and spirit.”

• “I forgive everyone.”

To remind yourself that anything is possible:

• “What marvelous things do you have for me today?”

• “I am excited about my future.”

To build character:

To improve your brain:

“My brain works extremely well.” “My memory is clear and sharp.” No matter what’s happening around me, I always need to remind myself how blessed I am, so I frequently repeat: “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

Affirmations, for me, are about inner peace. And when the number of people with inner peace grows to a tipping point, that’s when we’ll have peace in the world. If you’d like an mp3 of my 172 affirmations to play and repeat after me (I pause after each), just email me.

“I love and accept myself exactly as I am.”

“I am grateful for everyone and everything in my life.”
