John (Shorty) Martinez

Age 70, a resident of Questa, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on February 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents Fidel and Filomena Martinez; nephew Mario Sanchez; and mother-in-law Rachel Vialpando. John owned and operated John Martinez Trucking and also worked at the Moly Corp. Mine. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his wife Susie Martinez; children Tammy Mascareñas (Nathan), and John Martinez, Jr. (Yvonne); grandchildren Ashley Mascareñas (Luke), Nathaniel Mascareñas (Samantha), Savannah Herrera (Jared), John Martinez III, Sophia Martinez, Olivia Martinez, Annalia Martinez, Gracie Martinez; great-grandchildren Alexander Ortega, Ava Ortega, Addysen Ortega, Luke Trujillo, Jr., Luna Trujillo, Natalia Mascareñas, Luziano Herrera, Elliana Herrera; step great-grandchildren Karla Trujillo, Mya Trujillo, and Ayana Trujillo; sisters Rose Gonzales (Art), Tina Rael (George), Terry Padilla (George); father-in-law Marcello Vialpando; many sisters and brothers-in-law; plus many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral Service was held on Saturday February 20, 2021 at 11:00AM at the Living Word Ministries. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, limited seating will be available.
