Mother’s Day surprise
SANDY AMADO-CABRERA SURPRISES HER GRANDMOTHER, CARMEN VELARDE, on Mother’s Day Sunday (May 9) at Taos Living Center. It’s the first time Armado-Cabrera has seen and embraced Velarde since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down Taos Living Center to all visitors, including family, over a year ago. “I’ve missed you so much grandma,” Amado-Cabrera said, holding her hand. Now that Taos County is at the Turquoise level and residents and staff are fully vaccinated, Taos Living Center is allowing families to visit loved ones in person.
