2021 Senior Class send off!

- STAFF REPORT

WHEN ANGELICA BACKER called Tempo a couple of weeks ago, asking for J. Matt Thomas’ contact info, we had no clue what was afoot, but in no time at all, it appears that Thomas and the Taos High Senior Class President, Jonnea Trujillo, were being put in touch, and have been communicating via text message to set up quite the send-off for this year’s Senior Class!

“Jonnea and I have been communicating via text message to set up the following – we hope we can share this project with the entire community in support of the class of 2021,” said

Thomas.

To celebrate the Tiger Seniors month, Taos High School, will continue the ‘Be the Light’ program to honor the class of 2021. Again this Friday (May 21) at 8:21 p.m., the community is invited to show support for the seniors and have a moment of solidarity. Use social media to Tweet, Instagram and Facebook your message #BeTheLight #classof2021 #taoshighschool2021 #tigerstrong #tigerpride.

Anaya Field will be lit up and they

are asking the community to turn on their porch lights, house lights, headlights, flashlights and outdoor lights, all at 8:21 p.m.

The lights will be a beacon to show how proud we are for all our Seniors!

To round out this month of Taos High pride, The Paseo Project, in partnership with Taos Center for the Arts, will be working with class president Jonnea Trujillo in projecting senior class photos in the streets of Taos.

“On Friday, May 21st, at 8:21 p.m., we are inviting the community to come out and safely support our seniors. Drive through the downtown, take a stroll, flash your headlights in support,” said Thomas.

As for Paseo projections, Thomas said “we anticipate at least one projection upon the walls of the historic district.”

Get in your cars and drive slowly!
