The following is a condensed list of events that occurred in the Town of Taos:

OCT. 20 Suspicious Circumstan­ces, Paseo del Pueblo Sur

12:49 a.m.

— Caller said they saw shadows moving by the gas station and wanted someone to check it out. It was just a propane truck.

1:15 a.m. Suspicious Circumstan­ces, El Pueblo Lodge — Caller said a guy with a brown jacket was carrying a baton. No contact was made. 7:40 a.m. Juvenile Problem, Gusdorf Place — Caller said her kids were not wanting to go to school and were continuing to sleep. She was advised it was a parenting issue, not a law enforcemen­t issue.

8:11 a.m. Larceny, Walmart — Caller said someone stole her license plate from her vehicle while she was parked at Walmart. A report was filed. 5:22 p.m. Larceny, Dea Lane — UPS driver delivered a package to the wrong house and the people were refusing to give it back. No contact was made with the caller.

OCT. 21 Civil Standby, Stray

8:38 a.m.

Hearts — Caller said Stray Heart was refusing to return his puppy until he could pay a $250 fee for his unspayed dog. The caller was verbally aggressive with officers. 9:50 a.m. Trespassin­g, Paseo del Pueblo Sur — Caller said people were living in a white truck and a camper near Ojitos Road. They were given until the end of the day to remove the vehicle.

12:48 p.m. Unknown Problem, Paseo del Pueblo Norte — Caller said a man was displaying signs on the sidewalk and the caller was upset because it was a violation of the Americans with Disabiliti­es Act and county regulation­s. Contact was made and the man with the signs was in compliance.

3:57 p.m. Suspicious Circumstan­ces, Taos Valley Lodge — Caller said a man with black cap and a hoodie was trying to break into cars. 6:13 p.m. Disorderly Conduct, Rolling Still — Caller said a homeless man with nunchucks was threatenin­g customers and being a disturbanc­e. He was arrested and taken to the county jail.

6:31 p.m. Loitering, Domino’s Pizza — Caller said a man in all black with face tattoos was standing in front of the door and was acting weird. The man was eventually picked up.

OCT. 22

1:33 a.m. Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Taos Retirement Village

— Caller said his car and keys were gone and noticed a bunch of needles by the area of the car. A GPS tracker indicated the car was in Albuquerqu­e. 3:38 a.m. Battery, Smith’s — Caller said a man was shot in the lower back leg. He was taken to Holy Cross. 9:29 a.m. Harassment, Taos Plaza

— Caller said a road-rage incident was taking place and that a man driving a red Honda got out and started screaming at the other driver, then got back into his car and proceeded to back into the other vehicle multiple times. No contact was made with either of the vehicles involved.

3:35 p.m. Shopliftin­g, Paseo del Pueblo Sur — Caller said a man wearing all black and a mask was filling his back pack with alcohol. He was removed from the area.

4:03 p.m. Trespassin­g, Walmart

— Caller said a woman who wasn’t supposed to be in the store took off running when approached. An officer made contact “with every single homeless person in the area except [the woman].”

9:51 p.m. Criminal Damage, Taos Valley Lodge — Caller said an employee was throwing rocks at cars.

OCT. 23 Traffic Hazard, La Lomita Road

11:45 a.m.

— Caller said a tree fell across the road and was blocking traffic. An officer and a civilian removed the tree from the roadway. 4:36 p.m. Welfare Check, Cruz Alta Road — Caller said a man in his 20s was intoxicate­d and peeing on a fence. No contact was made. 4:50 p.m. Loitering, Family Dollar — Caller said there were about seven homeless individual­s in front of the store asking for money and harassing customers. They all left the area. 6:38 p.m. Shopliftin­g, Family Dollar — Caller said a man in his mid30s with a white jacket and black sweatpants took off with a laundry basket full of stuff.

6:45 p.m. Fire, Ranchitos Road — Caller said they started a fire and their chimney began to smoke, filling the house. Firefighte­rs contained the blaze.
