Taos Plaza Live moves to Kit Carson Park

THIS YEAR, EXPECT TO SEE some changes to events held on the Plaza, including Taos Plaza Live, due to the ongoing construction along Paseo del Pueblo Sur.

Although The Taos County Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Taos are excited to partner together for the 2023 season of Taos Plaza Live, it is anticipated that later this year, construction will proceed through Cantu Hill, at which time one lane will be closed creating a temporary one-way road until both sides of Cantu Hill can be completed.

It was determined by Town of Taos staff that events on the Plaza and the resulting traffic implications onto Camino de la Placita could create complications for police and fire emergency response. In collaboration with the Taos County Chamber of Commerce, it was decided to move Taos Plaza Live temporarily

to Kit Carson Park to accommodate the event’s growing popularity and to ensure that police and fire response times to emergencies are not hindered in any way. At this time, there are no plans that would prevent Taos Plaza Live from utilizing the Plaza in

the future. However, until the road construction has been completed around the Plaza, the emergency response must take priority. Both the Town of Taos and the Taos County Chamber of Commerce say they are looking forward to celebrating the music of

Taos with Taos Plaza Live at Kit Carson Park this year. All of the community is invited to this free, fun, family event beginning on June 29, 2023.
