Taos Community Foundation appoints two co-directors
Taos Community Foundation recently appointed two interim co-directors: Helen Forte and Traci Chavez McAdams. Together, they will fill the position previously helmed by Lisa O’Brien while a transition team searches for an official executive director, according to an announcement made by TCF on March 3.
Former Director O’Brien stepped down from the role on Feb. 28. As of the moment of the announcement, a transition team consisting of members from the board of directors are formulating search parameters for potential candidates.
“While Lisa will certainly be missed,” the announcement read, “the transition is proceeding nicely and we are grateful to have such talented and experienced professionals leading the way.”
Forte and McAdams are not new to the foundation. Forte is the director of community impact, while McAdams is the director of day-to-day operations. Both members of the team will retain their roles while simultaneously working as the acting co-directors.
O’Brien’s time as executive director of the foundation was prosperous — under her leadership, the organization nearly tripled its assets and more than doubled its network of community nonprofits.
“We are extremely grateful for the dedication from Lisa and all she accomplished in her time at the Foundation,” read the official announcement of O’Brien’s resignation last month. “Her knowledge of the community, our neighbors and friends, our history and our goals is unparalleled. She will be missed.”
According to the March 3 announcement, the transition process has been going smoothly. As of now, the foundation has yet to announce any candidates.
