MGR WROTE:

What a great idea and way to involve family, tradition, learning and creativity. Keep up the great work. I enjoy following your creative path and teaching through doing!

VALERIOLOIRELAV WROTE:

Absolutely love this!! Please keep covering families of this enchanted land who retain, revive and grow the native culture! Not newcomers who homogenize it.

First jumper since 2021 highlights New Mexico’s inaction to make Gorge Bridge safer

GUEST3102 WROTE:

A fence, a net, whatever would help dissuade a person from jumping from this site. The cost of these rescues alone may justify this expense. Although I believe the authorities didn’t realize using “Jumper” to describe this unfortunate person, I agree it sounded so harsh in the article, perhaps simply “individual” or another word would work. And last, I am also troubled that the rescue teams have to deal with these events emotionally, how horrific for them, and dangerous. There seems like no reason to Not try and make this a safer place and potentially stop this site as a suicide location.

RISA DRANEY WROTE:

What is needed is prevention programs and help for those in need. We have more suicides in Taos than most counties in NM. No one talks about locking up guns or other ways people take their lives. For twenty years, I’ve advocated for change but few care to get involved or look to support mental health. I know many families who have known someone who has died by suicide and these events reopen their wounds too. May all those effected please seek support and know your pain is felt by our community.

Taos ranked in top 10 towns for shopping

RICK BROWN WROTE:

How can that be when we can’t buy hardly anything here any more? It used to be better a few years ago when we had Beall’s and Tuesday Morning.

MICHELLE MESSICK WROTE:

CAV thrift, Lily’s Thrift Cat Cafe Thrift. That’s where we can afford to shop. SMH.

BERNADINE DEHERRERA WROTE:

There are many open spaces on the plaza, it would be amazing to see more Native and rooted Taoseños filling those spots.
