POLICE BLOTTER
The following is a condensed list of reports made to Taos Central Dispatch within the town of Taos from Oct. 4-8.
OCT. 4 Loitering, Bent Street
2:57 p.m.
— Caller said that a male individual was loitering and selling sticks. 7:27 p.m. Larceny, Herdner Road — Caller said that their ex-girlfriend had taken their keys and remote and was refusing to give them back. Police made no contact.
OCT. 5
Traffic Accident, Oakley
1:49 p.m.
Lane — Caller said that a delivery driver pulled into their driveway and hit a post on their property, but the driver and property owner were unable to communicate due to a language barrier.
4:25 p.m. Welfare Check, Walgreens — Caller said that two homeless people were being “rude and crude” to customers. They left before police arrived.
5:37 p.m. Shots Fired, Este Es Road — Caller said that a man walking his dog shot a gun three times. Police filed a report.
OCT. 6
10:47 a.m. Property Found, Stray Hearts Animal Shelter
— Caller said someone left a bag with a white substance believe to be narcotics. Police made contact and threw the bag away.
11:10 a.m. Disorderly Conduct, Verizon — Caller said a woman was throwing things around and hitting the workers after they refused to accept a phone she was trying to turn in. Police cited the woman for disorderly conduct. 1:41 p.m. Welfare Check, John Dunn Shops — Caller said a man was talking to himself, dancing and falling over. Police arrived and drove him home.
9:03 p.m. Lockout, Kit Carson Park — Caller said he was locked inside of the park and wasn’t able to read the big sign posting the park’s hours.
OCT. 7 Battery, Weimer Road
12:52 p.m.
— Caller said his tenant assaulted him because he was late on rent. The landlord was calling from the emergency room. Police made contact with the tenant and filed a report.
1:07 p.m. Shots Fired, Smith’s — Caller said they heard gunshots but didn’t see any firearm. Police arrived and couldn’t find suspicious activity.
8:18 p.m. Shoplifting, Super Save — Caller said that a teenager tried distracting a worker while another teenager tried to steal liquor. Police arrived and tried making contact with their parents.
9:39 p.m. Gunshot, Gil’s Barber Shop — Caller said that an individual driving by shot someone in the leg. Police arrived and filed a report for a follow-up.
OCT. 8 Bleeding, DreamTree
5:07 p.m.
Project — Caller said a man punched through a glass door out of anger and that his hand was bleeding. The male was transported to Holy Cross Medical Center. 7:09 p.m. Shots Fired, Reed Street — Caller said they heard a man shoot a gun 20 times. The shooter was identified from an earlier call.
