Flamenco at Wildflower Playhouse

- STAFF REPORT

WILDFLOWER PLAYHOUSE AND REVOZO present “Boleros y Coplas de Amor,” a Flamenco Valentine's dinner and show Wednesday, Feb. 14 at the Wildflower Playhouse. Vicente Griego, artistic director of ReVoZo, and resident flamenco master of the Wildflower Playhouse presents a masterfully arranged evening of love songs and melodies. Boleros y Coplas is a group known for the deep roots they hold in Northern New Mexico.

These flamenco rhythms are historically and internationally know across cultures for the influence and inspiration they have on both romance and tragedy. They hold stories for both those in love and in need of healing from love. These songs tell the story of romance in both the fairly tale and happily ever after, and the tragedy of love and loss, and though some may come for the romantic celebration of love, many will also come for the healing music offers for the broken heart.

Griegos' work has graced the stages of the Wildflower Playhouse since it first opened it doors and has brought world-renowned musicians and dancers presenting flamenco in its most authentic forms. Throughout the past two years, ReVoZo has entranced audiences with mesmerizing melodies and a unique pallet of Northern New Mexico influence. Audiences walk away moved by the remarkable talent and power of flamenco — the influential roots and the spirit that fills the small stage and intimate house of the Wildflower Playhouse.

Artistic talent includes Vicente Griego, the cantador, director and spirit of ReVoZo. Griego bring his talent and soul to the stage of the Wildflower.
