06/19/1951 - 11/05/2018 DANVILLE, GA- Austin Wayne Lewis, 67, diedMonday evening, November 5thwhile underwatchful care at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta following a brief illness. His beloved and devoted spouse, HankLittlewas at his side.
Austinwas born June 19, 1951 in Baxley, Georgia and was a resident of Danville, Georgia.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served on the aircraft carrier, USS John F. Kennedy and worked as a Phlebotomist TeamLeaderwithLabCorp.
In recent years Austin was part of the very fabric of CentenaryUnitedMethodist Church and loved to share the story of his church family. He was a communitymaker and the consummate storyteller regaling us all with tales of life - humorous, insightful, poignant and wise. Armed with intellect, courage and a strong sense of identity, Austin was not shy about sharing his faith, politics, and his favorite recipes. His generosity was renowned, his compassion heartfelt, and his wit razor sharp. His storytelling was surpassed only by his capacity to listen intently andmake meaningful connections. His journey remains an inspiration to us all, as we mourn his loss. His contagious and joyful laughwill remain with us forever.
Austin was preceded in death by his parents Austin Calvin Lewis, Jr. and Sarepta Annie Stone Lewis and his brother, Ted Lewis, Sr. He is survived by his spouse, Hank Little, step-mother Thelma Lewis, brother Dr. JackLewis (Dr. Mary Lewis), and three sisters: Dorothy Watkins, Catherine (Gerald) Temperance, and Patty (Andrew) Pennington.
A service celebrating his life will be held Saturday November 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Centenary UnitedMethodist Church (1290 College Street, Macon) with visitation Friday, November 9, 2018 from5:00 to 7:00 PM at Reece Funeral Home (15548 US Hwy 80, Jeffersonville, GA 31044).

Christel was born on August 14, 1973 inNiceville, FL to the lateHarryWayne and Marion Delores (Worthington) Parish. She graduated cuma sumlaude from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Christel workedmany years as the lead Pre-K teacher at Meadowdale Learning Centers. In her spare time, Christel could be found studying the word of God or volunteering her time tominister to others. She volunteered at theRehoboth Baptist Association, helping with the food bank. Christel was an activemember at Central Baptist Church, where she was active in various ministries and her Life Group. She adored her church family and friends andwas always putting others before herself. Next to herLord and Savior and husband, her greatest love was her son.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Gary Tressler ofWarner Robins, GA; son: Dylan Lashley of Joint Base Charleston, SC; sisters: Deanna (Parish) Regans of Niceville, FL and Tanya (Parish) Sells ofMontgomery, AL; brother: Terry Parish of Niceville, FL andmany other extended family and friends.
