26, 2018 GREENSBORO, GA - AndrewWhittaker, 76, died Nov. 26. Funeral services were held at NewHopeBaptist Church, Greshamville, Ga., Nov. 30, with the Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
After graduating from Greensboro High School in 1959, Andrewbegan dairy farming full-time on the family farm. He retired from the dairy business in 2003.
Andrewwasaman of faith whose lifewas a testimony of his relationshipwithChrist. He often helped neighbors without being asked and strangers others overlooked. His word was his bond.
Through the years, Andrew served New Hope Baptist as a deacon, Sunday School superintendent, and amember of various committees. In retirement he enjoyed working with New Hope’s AWANA andVacationBible School programs. He also volunteered as a Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief worker.
Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Catherine; daughter, Jennifer, ofMacon, Ga.; siblings Shirley Simmons, SusanWhittaker and Tony Whittaker, all of Greshamville; and brother Richard (Gwen) Whittaker of Glennville, Ga.; andmany nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Era Whittaker: two brothers, Lynn (the lateMildred) Whittaker of Rabun Gap, Ga. and Jack Whittaker of Greshamville.
