26, 2018 GREENSBORO, GA - An­drewWhit­taker, 76, died Nov. 26. Fu­neral ser­vices were held at NewHopeBap­tist Church, Gre­shamville, Ga., Nov. 30, with the Rev. Mike Pritch­ett of­fi­ci­at­ing, fol­lowed by in­ter­ment at the church ceme­tery.

Af­ter grad­u­at­ing from Greensboro High School in 1959, An­drew­be­gan dairy farm­ing full-time on the fam­ily farm. He re­tired from the dairy busi­ness in 2003.

An­drewwasaman of faith whose life­was a tes­ti­mony of his re­la­tion­ship­with­Christ. He of­ten helped neigh­bors without be­ing asked and strangers oth­ers over­looked. His word was his bond.

Through the years, An­drew served New Hope Bap­tist as a dea­con, Sun­day School su­per­in­ten­dent, and amem­ber of var­i­ous com­mit­tees. In re­tire­ment he en­joyed work­ing with New Hope’s AWANA andVa­ca­tionBi­ble School pro­grams. He also vol­un­teered as a Ge­or­gia Bap­tist Dis­as­ter Re­lief worker.

Sur­vivors are his wife of 49 years, Cather­ine; daugh­ter, Jen­nifer, ofMa­con, Ga.; sib­lings Shirley Sim­mons, Su­sanWhit­taker and Tony Whit­taker, all of Gre­shamville; and brother Richard (Gwen) Whit­taker of Glen­nville, Ga.; and­many nieces and neph­ews. He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents Frank and Era Whit­taker: two broth­ers, Lynn (the lateMil­dred) Whit­taker of Rabun Gap, Ga. and Jack Whit­taker of Gre­shamville.
