Cou­ple ar­rested in stab­bing death of home­less man

The search for a Ma­con mur­der sus­pect ended Thurs­day in a home on Napier Av­enue.

At about 1 p.m. Thurs­day, the U.S. Mar­shals South­east Re­gional Fugi­tive Task Force ar­rested 41-year-old Th­elo­nius McAuthor Sumpter on out­stand­ing war­rants not re­lated to the killing, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease from the Bibb County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.

Sumpter was a per­son of in­ter­est in the killing of a home­less man last month.

Of­fi­cers also took into cus­tody Sumpter’s girl­friend, Shird­e­ria Tamese Dorsey, also 41.

Once Bibb County sher­iff’s in­ves­ti­ga­tors ques­tioned the cou­ple about the stab­bing death of Ryan Lee Glover they charged them in Glover’s death.

On Novem­ber 24, Glover, 35, was found dead in a makeshift camp site in the woods on on Wal­nut Street across from the Day­break home­less re­source cen­ter near Cen­tral City Park.

McAuthor was charged with mur­der and Dorsey is ac­cused of be­ing a party to the crime of mur­der.

Both are be­ing held with­out bond at the Bibb County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.
