2019 MACON, GA- Jimmy Carl Spires, 76, of Macon, passed away sud­denly on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 10, 2019. The fam­ily will have a time of visi­ta­tion to greet friends on Sat­ur­day, Jan­uary 12, 2019 from6:00- 8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Fu­neral Home, 4989Mount Pleas­ant Church Rd, Macon. Fu­neral Ser­vices will be held Sun­day, Jan­uary 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at the fu­neral home, Rev­erend Charles Carter and Rev­erend Patrick Cramer will of­fi­ci­ate. Burial will be im­me­di­ately fol­low­ing in Macon Me­mo­rial Park Ceme­tery.

Jimmy was born on Au­gust 8, 1942 in Macon to the late Mar­ion R. Spires and Mary Beck Gre­gory. He was an ex­tremely hard work­ing­man. In 1974 he be­gan his own busi­ness in Macon, Yel­low Cab Com­pany, which is still ac­tive in Macon. After re­tire­ment, he en­joyed play­ing his gui­tar and rid­ing his mo­tor­cy­cles. He was the past pres­i­dent of the Ge­or­gia Taxi Cab As­so­ci­a­tion and a mem­ber of the Na­tional Taxi Cab As­so­ci­a­tion. Jimmy was a mem­ber of Sec­ond Bap­tist Church.

He­was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents as well as one brother; David F. Spires.

Left to cher­ish his mem­ory is his lov­ing fam­ily; His wife; Dorothy Ann Spires, Chil­dren; Ricci C. Spires, D. Michelle Spires (Zack­Kish), Shannon Spires Moxley (Shannon D.). Grand­chil­dren; Blake Spires and Lo­gan M. Row­land. Sib­lings; Chriss L. Spires (Patsy), Henry Cor­bett Spires (Eber­line) and Rogers Spires (Betty). As well as sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.
