Sally Mandes named resources manager at DEC
NORRISTOWN — Sally Mandes, a business administrator who has long worked with executive management teams in a wide range of environments, has been named resources manager at Developmental Enterprises Corporation.
The appointment was announced today by Susan R. Golec, chief executive officer of the Norristownbased non-profit organization. DEC is Montgomery County’s largest provider of therapeutic, vocational and habilitation services for adults with intellectual challenges and other developmental disabilities.
Prior to joining DEC, Mandes served for 10 years as office manager at the Baum printing plant of RR Donnelley in Northeast Philadelphia.
A published poet, Mandes attended Millersville University, where she majored in journalism. She is currently enrolled at the Institute of Children’s Literature.
Since its founding in 1971 by a small group of concerned parents, DEC has been dedicated to providing developmentally disabled adults with an “everyday” life, one in which they make their own decisions, have friends and enjoy social interaction, and give back to society -- as taxpayers, consumers, community service volunteers, and as responsible, productive citizens.
The organization tailors case management plans to make them appropriate for each individual it serves, focusing on skill training; job training and employment services; community housing, and therapeutic and enrichment services at DEC training centers located in Hatfield, Norristown, Pottstown and Willow Grove.
