Patricia Ann Kurtz (nee Farrell) of Collegeville, passed away peacefully at Phoenixville Hospital on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was 57 years old.

Born Jan. 30, 1960, in Chestnut Hill, Patti was the daughter of John “Jack” Farrell and the late Rita (nee Olivieri) Farrell and the beloved wife of David Kurtz, with whom she shared 13 years of marriage.

Patti, or “Happy” as she was appropriately known by her many relatives for the bright sunshine her smile and spirit could always induce, graduated from Bishop Kenrick, Norristown, in 1978, later becoming a homemaker with special talents for cooking and home decorating.

But her essence was that of a loving, selfless, family-oriented person always willing to help out others before herself.

During her threeyear battle with cancer, “Happy” was a testament to strong will, great courage and the power of positive thinking. Those around her most were amazed by the strength and fortitude she demonstrated on a daily basis – never once complaining of her difficult plight - and she made friends and admirers wherever she turned.

In addition to her husband, David, and her father, Jack, Patti is survived by her son, Ryan Ciociola; her two sisters, Chris Ann Reilly (Jim) and Lisa McMonagle (Bob), and many nieces and nephews on both sides of her family who will be lost without their beloved “Aunt Happy.”

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Patti’s Life Celebration on Sunday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 3:50 PM followed be her Memorial Service beginning at 4 PM at BoydHorrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-2777000.
