Louis T. Aquilante of Bridgeport

Louis T. Aquilante, age 86, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018, at Suburban Community Hospital. Mr. Aquilante was born in Berwyn, Pa., and was the son of the late Camillo and Anna (Manzi) Aquilante. He was the loving husband of Dorothy (Henning) Aquilante, who passed in 1996, after almost 40 years of marriage and his wife of the past 18 years, Monica (Venonsky) Aquilante. In addition to his wife, Louis is survived by his beloved daughters, MaryLou (Steve) Babiak of Phoenixville and Donna (James) Palmer of Bridgeport, his sister Mary DeOrzio, and his cherished grandchildren, Kimberly, Kelly, Erica, Stephanie and Jimmie. Sadly his other siblings, Congens, Dominic, Anthony, Nicholas, John, Frank, Katherine, Anna and Clarina all predeceased him.

Louis was a graduate of Conestoga High School, Class of 1949 and later went to technical school, where he learned electronics and became a television repairman. He owned his own repair shop in Strafford for over 25 years, until he retired in 1999. During the Korean War, he proudly served our country in The United States Air Force and was a longtime member of Catholic War Veterans Post 1683. He was also a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church for many years and is currently a member at Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed traveling with the church groups to many places, including Cape Cod and North Carolina. He also enjoyed going to the casino or turf club, playing and actually teaching blackjack, making pizzelles to take on his numerous doctor visits, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Many will remember him calling every girl he met “Cindy”!

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, January 27, starting at 9 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, PA., 19405. His viewing will be followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. Arrangements are by The Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, Keith J.
