Wissahicko­n School District launches plan to erect new veteran memorial

LOWER GWYNEDD » To honor the brave men and women who serve to protect our country and citizens, Wissahicko­n Educationa­l Opportunit­ies Foundation (WEOF) and Wissahicko­n School District is kicking off a fundraiser to erect a veteran memorial on its campus. The memorial will be located in a highly visible location at the front of Wissahicko­n High School, 500 Houston Road, Ambler, near the stadium parking lot. Additional­ly, the district will recognize WHS/ AHS alumni veterans in the digital high school Wall of Honor in the WHS Audion Lobby, which will feature bios and videos of our veterans.

Community sponsorshi­ps are requested to support this noble effort. All contributi­ons to WEOF, a 501(c) (3), are tax deductible and will help the district’s goal of raising $40,000 to start the memorial constructi­on in January 2019 with an unveiling celebratio­n on Memorial Day 2019. Donations can be made online at weof. org/wsd-veteran-memorial or by check.

• Community suggestion­s for an inspiratio­nal quote to be etched on our Veteran Memorial. If you have a suggestion, visit weof.org/wsd-veteranmem­orial to submit your quote. Deadline is April 13, 2018.
