Main Line chamber seeks nominations for business awards
WAYNE » The Main Line Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations of business and individuals for its 17th annual Business Awards.
The deadline for submitting nominations for this year’s awards is Monday, May 21. The awards will be presented at the Celebration of Business Leadership event on June 21 at The Desmond Great Valley Hotel and Conference Center in Malvern.
There are a number of categories open in this year’s Business Awards program, according to information on the chamber’s website. Nominations are currently being accepted for:
Large Business of the Year, 401 employees or more; Medium Business of the Year, 51 to 400 employees; Small Business of the Year, one to 50 employees; and Non-Profit Business of the Year, no limit on the number of employees.
Among the criteria for these business awards — the nominated business must have been in existence for at least 5 consecutive years and the business should have grown or expanded.
Green Business of the Year will honor the achievement of a Main Line Chamber of Commerce member who is leading the way in the green sector.
Growing Business of the Year will be awarded to the company that presents the highest percentage of revenue growth during its most recently completed fiscal year. Nominees should be in existence for at least five consecutive years with verified indications of growth and the effective management of growth.
Deal of the Year will honor a Main Line business that was involved in an acquisition, merger or real estate transaction that was concluded in 2017. This award will honor all parties to the transaction, including brokers, lawyers, consultants and accountants who were part of the deal.
CEO of the Year will be awarded to a CEO who has guided his or her organization to a new level of growth, achievement or recognition. Nominations will be accepted for CEOs who have held their position as a staff member for a minimum of three years.
CFO of the Year will be awarded to a CFO that has contributed to his or her company/organization’s overall growth and is a leader in commitment to good ethics, effective reporting and involvement in the community. Nominations will be accepted for CFOs who have held their position for a minimum of three years.
Emerging Leader of the Year will be awarded to a young professional who is driven and accomplished, demonstrates innovative thinking and is already making an impact on the Main Line community. Nominations will be accepted for individuals, 25 to 40 years of age, as of June 1, 2018, who demonstrate a dedication to excellence, creativity and initiative in his or her business or profession.
One additional award will also be presented — the F. Karl Schauffele Community Service Award. This award will be presented to the person whose efforts and good works have impacted the Main Line or areas around the Main Line in meaningful and significant ways. The award is intended to honor someone whose attributes emulate those of the late F. Karl Schauffele, past president of The Main Line Chamber of Commerce.
Nominations for the business and individual awards can be made by chamber members as well as nonmembers; nominees must be chamber members. Companies and individuals may also nominate themselves.
Nominations for the F. Karl Schauffele Community Service Award may be made only by members of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce.
The Celebration of Business Leadership event runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 21 at Desmond Great Valley Hotel & Conference Center, One Liberty Blvd., Malvern.
