James F. Buccella of Lansdale
James F. Buccella, 81, of Lansdale passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Norristown PA on September 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Dominick & Antoinette (Santore) Buccella and the loving husband of Mary (Santangelo) Buccella.
Jim had a lifelong passion for the game of baseball. He enjoyed playing the game as a young boy which continued through his early adulthood and then later, he imparted his knowledge and love of the game as a volunteer coach and inspiration to hundreds of kids through his affiliation with the NAA. Along with fellow youth baseball advocates, he served for many years as a leading member of the Board that led to the growth and development of the Norristown Athletic Association. This dedication was his “give-back” to the town he grew up in and loved throughout his life.
Jim had a long and successful career in the general construction industry working as a sales manager for the Union Paving Company early in his career before joining Haines and Kibblehouse in a similar capacity and finishing as a consultant with Allan Myers. Jim established life-long relationships with his customers and suppliers. Over the years he was a mentor and friend to many of his industry colleagues. Jim also worked a second job for many years as a bartender at the General Washington Country Club.
Jim looked forward to annual vacations to Cape May with his wife, Mary, as well as road trips through the New England countryside. His love of family and close friends was a hallmark of his life.
In addition to his loving wife Mary, he is survived by his two sons, James (Inga) Buccella, and Joseph Buccella; two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Bellita, and Donna (Jim) Bernstiel; four grandchildren, Christopher, Alayna, Christina (Denny), and Gabrielle (Benjamin); he is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Buccella.
