Isaac M. Sheaffer Jr. of Malvern
Isaac “Ike” M. Sheaffer, Jr., age 92, husband of the late Elizabeth L. (Lawrie) Sheaffer, of Malvern, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Sunrise of Paoli Assisted Living Center. Born on September 10, 1925 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Isaac and Adele (Gardner) Sheaffer. Mr. Sheaffer served in United States Air Force as a pilot during the end of World War II. After the war, Mr. Sheaffer graduated from Drexel University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was subsequently called back into service during the Korean War through the Air Force Reserves, where he served as an engineer stationed in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Sheaffer received his master’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania and was employed by The Burroughs Corporation for over 30 years. He was an accomplished musician that played the violin, piano and organ. Ike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend to all who knew him, and he will be missed by many. Mr. Sheaffer is survived by two children, Susan E. Sheaffer, wife of Richard A. Malecki, of Newfield, NY and David W. Sheaffer of Palo Alto, CA; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Sarah; and one sister, Sarah S. Bertsch. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sheaffer was preceded in death by one sister, Grace H. Sheaffer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, July 21 at 10:30 am at Campbell – Ennis Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Jeffrey M. Conway. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. Friends will be received from 8:30 am – 10:30 am Saturday at the funeral home.
