NORRISTOWN » On Aug. 25 police responded to the 600 block of Astor Street for a reported shooting. A male suspect was seen fleeing north and a K-9 unit was brought in for tracking. The K-9 track led to the back of a house on Astor Street where a black face mask was found, but the track was lost near Corson Street. Police canvassed the area for available surveillance video. The condition of the victim or the circumstances leading up to the shooting were not included in the blotter report.
Burglary suspect sought
to bed around 3 a.m. and awoke to find his 65-inch television had been stolen. The suspect made entry from an unlocked living room window, disconnected the TV from a sound system and exited out the front door. Officers processed the scene and discovered several fingerprints on the window and shoe imprints on a sofa.
Traffic stop yields drug discovery
NORRISTOWN » Around 3 a.m. Sept 5, an officer on patrol noticed a silver Honda Civic with heavily tinted windows attempting to back through the intersection of Green and East Elm streets. The officer ran the registration plate which came back to a resident with a suspended driver’s license and conducted a traffic stop. Neither the female driver nor the male passenger, whom the vehicle was registered to, could produce a valid drivers license so the car was towed. Police received information from a confidential informant that the vehicle’s owner reportedly kept a stash of narcotics behind the car’s power outlet. Officers noticed a piece of a plastic bag sticking out of the outlet housing and after removing a phone charger, found a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana and another clear plastic
bag containing 12 bags of suspected cocaine.
Mystery of the traveling pants
NORRISTOWN » At 11:36 p.m Sept. 5 police received a report regarding a pair of black slacks found in a trash can next to Mama Venezia’s Pizzeria, 674 E. Marshall Street. The pant’s contained a Pennsylvania ID and police tried to contact their owner, who later called in to dispatch to report a burglary. The victim, who resides in the 400 block of Tremont Avenue. The victim told police he had recently got a new door and wasn’t sure if he locked it correctly. He said someone had entered his apartment overnight and stole the trousers which contained his wallet, loose change, his car and house keys, and $246. Except for the cash, all of the items were still in the pants’ pockets.
