An­thony J. Tor­netta of Audubon

An­thony J. Tor­netta, 80, of Audubon died on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 4, 2018, at Ein­stein Med­i­cal Cen­ter Mont­gomery sur­rounded by his lov­ing wife and chil­dren.

Born July 10, 1938 in Nor­ris­town, PA, he was the son of the late Frances (Novickie) and An­thony Tor­netta, and hus­band of Geral­dine ‘Gerri’ (Puleo) Tor­netta, his lov­ing wife of 57 years.

Mr. Tor­netta was a grad­u­ate of West Catholic HS class of 1956, and a vet­eran serv­ing for four years with the US Ma­rine Corps.

He was em­ployed for over 35 years with PECO En­ergy Co. as a re­spected over­head trans­mis­sion line­man and later as a su­per­vi­sor for the small en­gine re­pair shop. A mem­ber of St. Teresa of Avila Church, W. Nor­ri­ton, he en­joyed spend­ing time with his fam­ily at his hunt­ing cabin in Tioga County and his daugh­ter’s fam­ily farm in Get­tys­burg. He was an avid out­doors­man, fish­er­man, and tal­ented wood carv­ing wildlife artist.

Sur­vivors in­clude chil­dren: Mark (Sharon) Tor­netta of Skip­pack, PA, Karen (Matthew) Re of Get­tys­burg, PA, Amy (Paul) Green­walt of Kim­ber­ton, PA, and grand­chil­dren: An­thony, Michelle (fi­ancé Sean), Sean Tor­netta; Austin (Ash­ley), Jensen, Nash (fi­ancé Ais­ling) and Grace Re; and Olivia, Ai­dan, and Sophia Green­walt; and one great grand­son As­ton Dean Re; sis­ter, Mary Jane (Ed­ward) Sally. He will be sorely missed by his sis­ters and brother in laws: Bernie Sil­vestre, Rose­marie and C.T. (Tony) An­thony, Cathy Tor­netta and an ex­tended fam­ily of nieces and neph­ews.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by sib­lings Ge­orge and Bar­bara Tor­netta.

The fam­ily will re­ceive rel­a­tives and friends on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 10, 2018, from 8:30 9:45 am, at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 So. Trooper Road, W. Nor­ri­ton, PA. His Me­mo­rial Mass will fol­low at 10 am. En­tomb­ment of his urn will be in St. Pa­trick’s Ceme­tery Mau­soleum, East Nor­ri­ton, PA.
