Paul Zappala of Jeffersonville

Paul Zappala of Jeffersonville passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 85 years old. Born November 30, 1933 in Catania, Sicily, he was the son of the late Sebastian and Rosa (nee Cavallaro) Zappala, and the beloved husband of Anna (nee Savoca) Zappala with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Paul served in the Italian Military before coming to the United States. In 1966, Paul officially became a United States Citizen and settled in Norristown to raise his family. Paul was very good with his hands and was a talented Finisher at Aristocrat Upholstery. He was passionate about gardening, and soccer. Prior to his retirement, Paul worked at both Sacred Heart Hospital and Villanova University.

In addition to his wife, Anna, Paul is survived by his three children; Anna Cucchiare (Frank), Rosemarie Ritrovato (Ronald) and Ben Zappala (Debbie), and seven grandchildren; Paul, Matthew, Chrisitan, Ryan, Anthony, Michelle, and Ronald. He was preceded in death by his four brothers; Alfio, Mario, Salvatore, and Filippo Zappala.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Paul’s Life Celebration on Thursday January 17, from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610277-7000. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11 AM at Holy Saviour Church 407 East Main St. Norristown. Entombment will be in St. Patrick’s Mausoleum.
