James Angelo Cerrato, 85, of Lafayette Hill, PA, joined our Lord and Savior on February 8, 2019, surrounded by his beloved family.

He is survived by his adoring wife, Theresa, his two devoted daughters, Lori (John Gamrat) and Maria (Michael Zappitelli), his loving grandchild­ren, Joseph, James, John, Jessica, Michael, and Juliana, his beloved brothers, Samuel, William, and Robert, and many nieces and nephews.

He was born and raised in the Germantown neighborho­od of Philadelph­ia into the loving family of the late Samuel and Cecelia (née Scarpello) Cerrato. He is predecease­d by his beautiful son, Jamie, and brothers, Charles and Guy Cerrato.

In 1965, he opened “Jim’s Cold Cuts” of Conshohock­en with the guidance of his late brotherin-law, Edward Ranalli, proudly operating it for over 30 years. Jim was known and loved throughout Conshohock­en for his outgoing personalit­y and love of people. His customers meant the world to him and he will always be known for his practical jokes, delicious cheese steaks, homemade water ice, and his ability to fix anything.

An exceptiona­l athlete, he played for a minor league baseball team and enjoyed playing golf in his spare time, going fishing on his boat, and watched any sport possible. He lived for his family and friends and he will be deeply missed for all of the wonderful memories that he provided us over the years. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 219 Fayette St., Conshohock­en, PA 19428. The viewing will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 9-10 a.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohock­en. Interment in St. Matthew Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ name to St. Matthew Church are appreciate­d.
