Ye scores 22, USciences tops Jefferson

Irisa Ye (North Wales/North Penn) tied a game-high with 22 points — 15 coming in the second half — while also registerin­g seven rebounds and two assists as the USciences women’s basketball team avenged its lone loss of the season as the Devils handed Jefferson its first defeat 70-59 last Tuesday.

Taylor Hamm (Collegevil­le/ Perkiomen Valley) added 10 rebounds, five points, five assists and two steals, Jess Huber (Hatfield/North Penn) had five points and two rebounds while Mikaela Giuliani (Lansdale/North Penn) grabbed three rebounds for USciences

Caitlyn Cunningham (Dresher/ Mount Saint Joseph) — who was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Co-Player of the Week Monday — paced Jefferson with 22 points and also collected three rebounds while Jessica Kaminski (Philadelph­ia/ Archbishop Wood) had 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Alynna Williams (Ambler/Plymouth Whitemarsh) chipped in eight points, four rebounds and two steals and Erin Maher (Lansdale/North Penn) had three points, four rebounds and two blocks.

Both teams went on to pick up victories last Saturday.

Cunningham scored a careerhigh 32 points to go along with nine rebounds, five steal and two assists as Jefferson bounced back by rolling past Dominican (N.Y.) 69-47. Kaminski had 16 points,
