Township honors Public Works Department
Plymouth Council commends Edward Lowery for 20 years of service
PLYMOUTH >> At its Monday night meeting, The Plymouth Township Council recognized Edward Lowery for his 20 years of service with the township’s Public Works department.
Council Chairman Marty Higgins acknowledged that the years of service milestone is a commendation that frequently repeats in Plymouth Township.
“Every month I say the same thing,” Higgins said, adding his gratitude to Lowery. “Most places you don’t have people staying 20, 30 years. We’re very fortunate.”
The Council unanimously approved a resolution recognizing Lowery’s years of service. The timing coincided with the governing body’s next resolution, which honored the Public Works department as part of National Public Works Week, May 19 through May 25.
Council Vice Chairman Christopher Manero said he talks on a day-today basis with many residents. “One hundred percent of the time” the residents he speaks to tell him to “make sure you don’t change anything with the Public Works department.”
Manero commended staff for “going above and beyond and really being full-service members of our community.”
Councilwoman Lenore Bruno called the staff “second to none” and said they are “very well appreciated.”
Councilwoman Karen Bramblett said there’s rarely a week that goes by where she does not hear or see something positive on social media or in a note to the township.
“I don’t think there’s a township or municipality anywhere that gets weekly commendations from the public (like) our Public Works department does,” Bramblett said.
