Variety Trail Run and Fall Fest set for Saturday
Variety will hold its annual Trail Run and Fall Fest, this Saturday, Oct. 12. The trail run will start at 9 a.m. followed by the Fall Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the camp location, 2950 Potshop Road, Worcester.
Events begin with a race as more than 100 walkers and runners will make their way through Variety’s 77acre campus. Prizes will be awarded to the top runners overall and by age. After the race, all participants and the general public are invited to join Variety for Fall Fest. Fall Fest will include food, vendors, activities, face painting, live music and fun for the entire family. Highlights include: • Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels: Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels will be on site providing educational and hands-on experiences with animals for all the enjoy.
• Build-A-Birdhouse: Courtesy of Lowe’s, this free event will allow participants to build a birdhouse of their own with builders on hand to help.
• Sensory Friendly Trick-or-Treating: Sensory Friendly Trick-or-Treating at Fall Fest gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy this special Halloween tradition in a fun and carefree environment. Children will dress up in costumes comfortable to them and trick-or-treat at the decorated cabins at Variety. For those who can’t enjoy candy, other items like squishy balls, crayons and other non-food items are offered.
• LEGOLAND Giveaway: The first 50 children at Fall Fest will receive a giveaway from LEGOLAND.
• Pumpkin Decorating: Attendees can get into the Halloween spirit by decorating a pumpkin.
