WIOV cancels Fallfest Country Music Festival

-

Radio station WIOV-FM 105 radio station announced Thursday that the annual I-105 Fallfest planned for Oct. 4 at Maple Grove Raceway in Brecknock Township has been canceled.

“The health and safety of our listeners, artists, sponsors and staff have always been our top priority” said WIOV Program Director Rich Creeger. “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have closely monitored the CDC and Pennsylvania guidelines and hoped for a different outcome. We have come to the difficult decision to cancel the event for 2020.”

The radio station-produced music festival has been held annually since 1992 as a listener appreciation event and attracted many of country music’s biggest stars to perform in Lancaster and Berks Counties. The performers for the 2020 concert had not yet been announced.

The I-105 Fallfest will return to Maple Grove the weekend of Oct. 10, 2021.

Coachella, Stagecoach canceled this year over virus

LOS ANGELES » The Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals have been canceled this year due to coronavirus concerns.

Dr. Cameron Kaiser, Riverside County’s public health officer, signed an order Wednesday canceling the popular festivals outside Palm Springs. Health officials are concerned about a possible surge in coronavirus cases in the fall.

Coachella, a massive music and arts festival, and Stagecoach, a country music event, are typically held in April but were previously postponed until October.

Now, “given the projected circumstances and potential, I would not be comfortable moving forward,” Kaiser said.

Travis Scott, Calvin Harris and Frank Ocean were set to headline Coachella. The Stagecoach lineup included Lil Nas X, Carrie Underwood and Billy Ray Cyrus. Both festivals are held in Indio.
